Well the turkey season is well on its way and to say most of us have had a slow start is an understatement. The girls are busy with wedding plans and work, and this weekend coming up is our annual turkey camp weekend and yes, I’m looking forward to it. I have had a rough season to date, missing 3 birds so far, all head shot attemps at roughly 18 yds. close misses, but clean misses none the less. We’re talking about a game of millimeters. John has proven to be king again in the turkey woods by tagging out very early again, Richard has one under his belt as well. Midway through the season and it’s time to start getting serious or risk eating tag soup. Here is a picture of Johns bird and we’d also like to wish everyone the best for the remainder of the spring turkey season.
Turkey camp update….. well we had a great trip, Garry Labelle and his family along with Louise and I and a new couple Brent and Jeanna Bennet and long time friend Marcel (Dead Nuts) Aube shared the camp, a lot of stories and a few pop over the course of the weekend. We only managed to put down a jake during the 2 days of hunting but everyone had opportunities of one sort or another. Looking forward to it again next year. Below s a pic of the jake.
