When people find out that I hunt, they often have a puzzled expression on their face. Yes I’m a woman that has been hunting deer, bear and turkey for over 20+ years, I don’t want to date myself.
My Dad died when I was 15, in March, when we lived around Sudbury, ON. My Mom was widowed and had five children, four girls and one boy, of which I was the oldest. My Mom waited until we had completed our school year, packed up our worldly belongings and we moved to my Mom’s hometown, Port Dover, ON.
Luckily, I met Rick Marchand, we started dating, married and raised two girls, Erica and Kelly. In the 1980’s, jobs were scarce and Rick found employment in the Timmins area, which meant a big move for Rick, 3 month old Erica and myself. Within 2 years of living in Timmins, Kelly was born. Rick was busy working, hunting, trapping and providing for our family. During this time, we all became heavily involved in archery and bowhunting. For myself, I started with a recurve bow, graduated to a compound bow, which I shot barebow, to eventually present day shooting a compound with a release, peep site and sights.
My interests are very diverse, gardening, reading, knitting, quilting and hunting. I go on many adventures related to quilting and hunting.
Over the years I have met many people, made some awesome friends, special memories and enjoyed the wonders of nature and hunting.
